- 1. Are towels provided?
We provide towels for use in the cottage but request you bring your own beach towels.
- 2. How close is the nearest beach?
We are central for nearly all the beaches on the Lands End peninsular, but are only 4 minutes by car from what is probably the best kept secret on the north coast - Portheras beach. Which is only a 45 min walk along the coastal footpath.
- 3. Is there a local bus service?
Throughout the winter months Western Greyhound operate 3 buses in each direction every weekday. In the summer this is supplemented by Western National who operate a circular bus route in both directions every 90 minutes.
- 4. How close are the local shops?
We are well served by 4 major supermarkets in Penzance (6 miles), a Tesco in Carbis Bay (7 miles), the Co-op in St. Just (6 miles), and the local Cost-cutter in Pendeen (3 miles) which stocks a comprehensive supply of fairly-priced fresh food. Tesco and Iceland also provide a home delivery service.
- 5. Are there any restaurants locally?
Because of our location, there are opportunities to dine no matter what direction you choose to drive in but we are really spoilt because the Gurnards Head voted Cornwall's "Dining Pub in 2008", is only 1.5 miles along the B3306, which was last year voted the most scenic route in Great Britain, and should you choose to, a really lovely walk home!
- 6. Can we please bring our little dog or cat?
We are sorry but although we are probably in the best walking location in the area we do not make any exceptions.
- 7. What entertainment do you have should we have bad weather?
The cottage has a colour television, DVD player and a VHS player. There is a selection of DVD's but feel free to bring your own favourites. There is also a selection of well read books.
